My name is Megan Harris, and I am an Atlanta, GA native who loves to serve.
As a seasoned financial services professional, my journey began in 2006 with Bank of America while pursuing my BA in Finance at the University of West Georgia, and later earning my MBA. I transitioned to a local financial firm, where I worked in financial planning and insurance, eventually becoming a senior financial advisor. As an independent broker with my own company, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to my work.
With a passion for helping others drives my commitment to serving the needs of my community as a commissioner. This dedication fuels my advocacy for policies that promote fairness, equity, and opportunity for all members of society. I understand the importance of finding practical, realistic solutions to complex issues, and I am willing to work collaboratively with others to achieve meaningful results. By leveraging my professional expertise and unwavering commitment, I aim to confront injustice and ensure that every member of our community has the opportunity to thrive.
I've always been passionate about community service, from teaching students about budgeting and investments to being an active volunteer in Sandy Springs. I regularly help with community events, like hosting free entertainment, giving out Thanksgiving turkeys, and supporting families through partnerships with local schools.
My involvement with Education Force Sandy Springs, Leadership Perimeter, the Sandy Springs Rotary Club, and the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber of Commerce has given me valuable insights into local government and the importance of community engagement. As a poll precinct manager, I’ve worked to ensure smooth and compliant elections. Now, I’m running for Fulton County Commissioner for District 2 to continue advocating for a cohesive, innovative, and responsive community.
